This fall Cucurbit Farm will host its 2nd Annual Scarecrow Contest. It's a month-long celebration of the fall harvest at Cucurbit Farm.  The celebration's signature event is the Scarecrow Contest that lines Parker Street along the farm. While the contest brings families out to support the farm and brings a continuum of smiles to all who pass by, its main purpose is to raise funds for and bring awareness to NAMI programs. A $25 donation to NAMI Central Middlesex is requested to enter the contest.

In preparation for the contest, participants should come in to the farm stand during the month of September.  At that time, participants will exchange their donation for a scarecrow frame to build their scarecrows on! We would like to remind people that the entries should be positive in nature, with no violence, blood, or Halloween themes accepted. It is our goal to again create a display that is both fun and inspires happiness and hope while supporting a very important cause.

The scarecrows will be on display the entire month of October to be viewed and enjoyed.  Balloting will also take place throughout the month and anyone can come by to vote for their favorite. The scarecrow receiving the most votes will receive a $100 cash prize. Last year we had 70 scarecrows.  We are on track to receive over 100 entries this year. Please help us reach our goal by forwarding this email to any families, friends or groups that would like to help support NAMI Central Middlesex or would like to participate in this uplifting event.

Please contact us if you would like to join the fun!
